Do you ever wonder how today’s advanced game consoles came to be? Are you curious about their journey and a little nostalgic about the consoles from yesterday?

The very first game console to be developed was the Magnavox’s Odyssey and while it may have been revolutionary at the time, its design and feature sets were very limited.

It let players only control a blip on their TV. Game consoles only really started to evolve when the Home Pong was introduced in 1976 and a year later, the Atari 2600 with its killer app: Space Invaders.

Finally, in 1983, Japanese firm Nintendo introduced the Family Computer, or Famicom for short, ushering in the era when the video game console truly began to have an identity.

Now, major companies like Sega, Sony, and Microsoft were battling over who could deliver the best overall experience that included the best game console.

What did this mean for the evolution of the game console? What game consoles were developed later as a result of this competition? Which were considered the best amongst them all? What new and advanced features did they possess and what are the best game consoles of today? We answer all these questions and more in our video.
